Major Corbin started the day by talking to our resident stowaway (named Becky by him or Subject 43 by the suits that are after her) about how he has been seeing other languages. They talk a little and get to be friends. She tries to look in his head to see if maybe the Kronen messed with him. She scans him but turns up with not much… It’s echoey and a different color. He offers to teach her games and play with her when they have some time. He then goes to the doctor to have a head scan. Results seem inconclusive for the most part but his synapses are a little more active than normal.
Meanwhile Pierce went onto some personal ads to meet some ladies. He got sparky (cadet pilot) to fly him down to the station. Sparky got Pierce to be his wingman and get help at the gym. Pierce ditches sparky to head to the library to wait for his “contact” – Hetty. He went to Mike to get approval to go to the station without letting the captain know.
They started talking about diplomacy and in no time Pierce managed to lead her back to her apartment to avoid being followed by some man that had been keeping an eye on him since he arrived. The man however pulls a gun on Pierce and Pierce Fast Draws to stop him but the man gets his shot off first even though it goes wide. The gun was some sort of energy weapon. Pierce gets his shot off and hits his assailant in the chest with his holdout laser pistol which hurts but he appears to be wearing armor. He ducks to the side and a shootout begins. Pierce’s weapon malfunctions and he ducks into an open door which leads him to the station dojo and he prepares to judo grab the assailant when he enters. The assailant cautiously enters and is grabbed by Pierce and a struggle ensues over control of the assailants weapon. A shot goes off, but the struggle continues and Pierce finally wrestles him down and gets the gun. The dojo students watching the whole thing golf clap and Pierce proceeds to try and questions the man in front of witnesses and asks for help in restraining the assailant. He then calls Li Kung for aid. A few security officers from Sendai Security show up to remove him. He goes on about how Pierce needs to die, just look at him, don’t you see it too?
Security took away the Raged Assailant and Pierce starts talking to the dojo master and possibly picking up classes when he can.
Pierce goes to pick up Sparky and tries to set up Sparky with the personal trainer to help Sparky out. They then head back to the ship to avoid more assailants or trouble. He gives Sparky a brief instruction in how to get the womens interested. He catches up with Hetty online to make sure she is safe. Once he gets back, Li Kung calls to tell him more about the assailant. He is a member of a ship that has been on station a little longer than us and it is rumored that one of their shipmates that is running around the station screaming that all of his companions have been killed, which makes the assailant a dead man or a missing one. Pierce heads to the medical quarters and talks to Doc about something confidential that involves a scalpel. He needs her to cut him. She takes his vitals, and he seems to be normal. He hangs out for about 12 hours and then asks her to take off the bandage and there is no cut anymore. He asks her to figure out what happened to him. Testing commences. He has known about it for about 5 years, since he started working for the embassy. He fell and broke both his legs but the healed in a week. She takes some blood samples to test.
After Pierce had returned, Corbin goes off to the station to search for rumors and ideas of where to go next. He finds something about someone taking rich thrill seekers on singularity surfing tours that will get you the closest to the event horizon as you can, not technically illegal but frowned upon anyway. He spends some time in the map room when he gets back to review areas that might be open for survey as well.
